In PE, Meerkats have been practising their tennis skills. They practised accurate throwing and striking skills, despite it being rather windy! They played in partners, seeing how many hits they could catch!
Despite the traffic jam on the way there, Giraffe class had a great day at the Natural History Museum learning about evolution and inheritance. Also this week we have continued with vaulting in our gymnastics lessons and we all managed to successfully vault onto the horse.
This week, Leopard Class have tried to recreate the work of Ancient Greek vase painters. We had a go at sketching a scene that reflected Ancient Greek life before our partner gave us feedback on how to improve. We edited and improved our drawing three times before we had a final design.
Koalas enjoyed exploring our new model text in English this week. We created story maps to summarise each paragraph and shared them with the rest of the class to enable us to learn the whole story.
Bears have received a delivery of caterpillars. We have researched the different life stages of a caterpillar and keep checking them daily to see how much they have grown. We are eagerly awaiting the next stage in their lifecycle.
This week we have received a cheque from Bright and Sons solicitors. They have generously donated £1000 towards our end of year school trip, both staff and pupils were overwhelemed with their genoristy!
Year 6 have had a busy week this week: visiting the Natural History Museum, learning musical notation and studying famous Ancient Greeks as well as all our English and Maths!
