During this half term we have finished our topic all about me, we had a Halloween themed week where we explored pumpkins. We particularly liked getting very messy scooping them out whilst we carved them into different shapes.
We investigated bodies by using the story book 'Funny bones'. We discussed all the different bones in our bodies and what they are used for.
During anti-bullying week we focused on friendships. We read the story 'Rainbow fish' and wrote a list of what a good friend looks like to help the Rainbow fish become a better friend.
In our last topic week before we started Christmas activities we explored the senses. We investigated what each sense was for and tried lots of new things. During this week our maths focus was money. Bears asked to make their home corner into a McDonalds to be able to buy and sell using their new money knowledge. McDonalds kindly donated lots of packaging for us and the Bears made burgers, chicken nuggets, fries, burger buns and salad out of different materials in our classroom. It was a great success and all the Bears enjoyed their learning.
The last few weeks of term were Christmas crazy, we had lots of Christmas play rehearsals, visits from the local Pre-schools and many Christmas decorations to make. Bears worked extremely hard learning their dances and songs for the play and made all of the adults very proud of their effort.
