The Children's Health Project
Children in Panda class have been trying out some lessons from the Children's Health Project which the whole school will be taking on in September. They have been learning about healthy life style choices such as making sure they drink enough water. They have made some 'fruity ice cubes' to act as a natural flavour to their water. Just chose your fruit, chop them up small, place them in an ice cube tray, add water and freeze!
On Thursday 17th May children in Year 6 attended the Quad Athletics event at the Upper Plume. Children had to take part in 4 different activities - long distance run, sprint, throw and standing long jump.
The Daily Mile
Maldon Primary have now been walking and jogging the Daily Mile for a while! Their fitness and stamina is improving and they are having valuable social time with their friends. Children and staff will continue to walk or jog the mile and see how much more their fitness can improve!
So far we have walked around 105 miles each!
For Sport Relief children took part in a 'crazy' mile. They completed the daily mile in all sorts of crazy ways! Some stuck to jogging or walking, some moved backwards, hopped, skipped, some even rolled their way around!
As part of our activities for Sport Relief we had the chance to take part in a fitness workshop lead by Fit Kidz. During the session we learnt all about how to stay healthy through exercise and diet. We had a try at some different types of exercise and generally got our hearts pumping! It was great fun!
