This week, Tigers have been changing the characters and setting for the Paper Bag Princess. The children have practised telling their new stories to each other. In spellings, the children have been investigating what happens to a word which ends in y when you add a suffix.
In ICT, Meerkats have been learning how to use PowerPoint. They chose a subject of their choice to make a Power point on. The children then experimented with different theme presentations and slide transitions, along with editing the font and colour.
In Mandarin, Leopards children have been learning how to say the names of different animals. They then had to decide whether the animals were zodiac animals or not.
In RE this week, Giraffe class discussed the Humanist Golden Rule and why society has rules. We decided that it is not always a written rule that governs how we act and wrote our own golden rules.
In year one we have been looking at self portraits. We tried one in the style of Matisse then we had a go at using a paint programme on the computer to draw ourselves. We saved all our own work on the server. We discovered that we were owners of our work and nobody could copy it or change without our permission. We found out that this is called copywrite!
