Year 4 trip to the Pudge barge
We are delighted that our year 4 children have been invited to take part in a lottery funded project run by the Thames Sailing Barge Trust. The two year project will involve the restoration of a sailing barge affectionately known as ‘Pudge’. We visited Pudge this week to see it before its renovation work begins. During our visit, the children took lots of photos and sketched different objects on the boat. We also enjoyed exploring the barge and learning what Pudge got up to during World War 2. The highlight of our trip was getting to ring the bell as we left!
Art days - Thursday 28th and Friday 29th March 2019
For two days this week we were joined by Art Solutions and children's families to create 5 master pieces for display in our school. Pupils were taught crucial skills such as twisting, flat padding and pebbles to change the shape of their newspaper and then how to attach these to the large boards to create 3D displays. As well as developing our art skills, the project required lots of team work and resilience!
