We have arrived! The journey here was trouble free, door to door in 90 minutes. We have explored camp and eaten an early lunch (the constant cries of “Is it lunchtime yet?” that started around 10:15am were overwhelming 😂) The group leader “Martina” has played loads of games and taught them some excellent new songs ( parents, you’re welcome!). The afternoon consisted of aeroball (basketball in a trampoline) and then the dizzy heights of Jacobs ladder. ALL the children had a go and made us incredibly proud. After a tasty dinner of chicken nuggets and chips/lasgane/vegetable bake we all headed to the river for the campfire songs. There was some crazy dancing and ‘interesting’ singing (more photos to come!). As dusk approached we planned our activities for Thursday, showered and got ready for bed. Lights out ready for an early wake up (and a tasty cooked breakfast). The children have had a fantastic first day and were an absolute pleasure! Looking forward to the adventures tomorrow. Night night x
After a good nights sleep we awoke to the sweet sounds of cheeping birds and glorious sunshine! After a hearty cooked breakfast and a healthy bowl of cereal we headed off for a round of archery. Many bullseyes were hit by the amazing ‘hunger games’ wannabe archers. Following that we learned some new skills in fencing, the costumes caused much hilarity (particularly the large chest plates!) and calls of “on guards rang round Bawdsey Manor House. Lunch was a range of delicious pasta dishes with garlic bread and a help yourself salad bar. After a costume change (yes Bethan and Sophie are still wearing the same outfits) we went off for the hair raising giant swing! The videos will be shared on the parent CD and will make VERY entertaining viewing!!! In the glorious sunshine we went off into the beautiful grounds to build a buggy from wooden planks and barrels, team work was essential. We are just off to dinner and a quiz before an early night?!?!?
